Abi Pedersen

abi 2For as long as I can remember I have always been passionate about music. Whether writing, performing, recording, listening, teaching, or learning; I have thoroughly enjoyed all of my musical experiences!

I started taking piano lessons at the age of 5, and quickly progressed so that by 13 I was already teaching. I received my ACCM (Associate Teachers Certificate through Conservatory Canada), went to college to receive my Associate of Arts in Surrey, BC, and then continued on to get my Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance form the University of Alberta. Currently, I am working on my Masters of Music in piano, but it is not my only instrument. I play piano, acoustic guitar, mandolin, hand drums, and I sing as well!

I love to experience other cultures. In 2014 I had the privilege of going on a humanitarian trip to the Philippines which involved medical work, and doing music and speaking in a small leadership conference there. Other things I enjoy are photography, reading, and gardening.

Although I am classically trained, I have studied and taught in a wide variety of genres, and focus on having a fun and active learning experience. I love to work with the team at Walters Music Studio, and work to build and maintain healthy relationships with my students and their parents!
